Happy New Year!
I have never put much stock into new year's resolutions, but there is something that I find very energizing - new beginnings! So, whether you're a lover of a resolution or you just want to ride the boost the new year brings, we can put this time of year to good use.
It's widely believed that new year's resolutions fail, but my question is, "Fail at what?" If you resolve to never eat another this or that, or to exercise every single day (regardless of the fact that it's been years since you have), the resolution is likely the problem, not making one.
Maybe your resolution could be to ride the good vibes as long as they last. That's a sure-fire success. Think about it, if you don't plan to set any goals or make any changes just because resolutions "don't work" then you absolutely will not fail, but you also might not see any changes either.
I have lost count of the number of times that I have worked with someone who said, "Okay, I'll eat plant based for two weeks, a month, etc. and see how I feel," never to go back again. You never know what a good kickstart can do for you unless you try.
Just let go of your expectations, and you will not be disappointed.
Greens 'n Ginger Smoothie
The Greens 'n Ginger Smoothie offers a fresh, sweet, and mildly zesty flavor, featuring whole food ingredients and numerous health benefits.
Ingredients
2 cups greens of choice (1 cup if you're using sprouts *pictured above)
2 cups frozen mango chunks
1 inch fresh ginger or 1 teaspoon ginger powder
3 medjool dates, pitted and destemmed
2 cups of water
Optional: 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a blender (liquid first, frozen things on top) and blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
Notes: If you find it too zippy, swapping your favorite unsweetened plant milk for some or all of the water will help tone it down. Not zippy enough? More ginger!
